Since October 2006, parishioners and other interested groups from around the Diocese of Springfield, have gathered every Sunday at 11:45 a.m. to make 400 ham and turkey sandwiches for Springfield's homeless and food insecure.  To date, over 395,000 sandwiches have been provided for our brothers and sisters in need.  In May, 2011, our ministry began to provide clothing, as well as, lunches.

 

There are an average of 30 volunteers each week from all over the Diocese including many youth participants from Pope Francis Preparatory School and local confirmation classes.

 

The ministry is supported by the Annual Catholic Appeal, the St. Pauly Shed on Wheeler Street, and Holy Cross second collections, as well as, personal donations.
