Imitating Christ the servant-leader, we will employ and model governance practices at all levels that seek to:

  • Meet the needs of God’s people

  • Support the Church’s mission

  • Ensure appropriate participation in decision-making by the laity, religious, and ordained

  • Uphold Gospel stewardship

  • Promote accountability and transparency

WHAT IS THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL?

The Parish Pastoral Council is comprised of both the clergy leadership and parishioners. Parishioners are nominated by the parish community and, if selected, will serve up to six years. This council has oversight responsibility and works collaboratively with the clergy and other committees to bring to fruition projects and events that serve the parish.

WHEN/WHERE DO WE MEET?

Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the rectory conference room. The council does not normally meet in December, July, or August.

HOW ARE MEMBERS SELECTED?

Each Parish Pastoral Council member is nominated by another parishioner or themselves. There is NO voting during any of the process. If there are more nominees than open slots on the council the new members will be chosen by lot. There are many examples of this in scripture. In Acts 1:23-26 the apostles used this method to ultimately choose Matthias to be counted among themselves, replacing Judas.
