WHAT IS THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL?
The Parish Pastoral Council is comprised of both the clergy leadership and parishioners. Parishioners are nominated by the parish community and, if selected, will serve up to six years. This council has oversight responsibility and works collaboratively with the clergy and other committees to bring to fruition projects and events that serve the parish.
WHEN/WHERE DO WE MEET?
Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the rectory conference room. The council does not normally meet in December, July, or August.
HOW ARE MEMBERS SELECTED?
Each Parish Pastoral Council member is nominated by another parishioner or themselves. There is NO voting during any of the process. If there are more nominees than open slots on the council the new members will be chosen by lot. There are many examples of this in scripture. In Acts 1:23-26 the apostles used this method to ultimately choose Matthias to be counted among themselves, replacing Judas.
WHO COMPRISES THE COUNCIL?
Ex-officio Members are comprised of staff and clergy. Current ex-officio members are:
· Fr. Quynh Tran, Administrator
· Marc-Arthur Jean-Mary, Deacon
· Odell "Danny" Daniel, Deacon
· Cathy Daniel, Director of Religious Education
· Brian Rucci, Music Director
Nominated Members were selected by their fellow parishioners to be considered for membership. The current list of nominated council members is:
Ann Marie Duffy
The Spiritual Life, Community Life, and Communications Committees each send a representative to Parish Pastoral Council Meetings to provide an update on each committee’s work.
